World Order Lab Holds Introductory Courtesy Meeting with ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR)
World Order Lab held an Introductory Courtesy Meeting with ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR) on Friday, September 4, 2026, to formally introduce the youth think-tank and exchange perspectives on peace, reconciliation, conflict prevention, and regional stability in Southeast Asia. The meeting marked an important step in strengthening our engagement with ASEAN institutions and key regional stakeholders working to advance a peaceful and resilient Southeast Asia.
World Order Lab’s Executive Director Muhammad Izzuddin Al Haq led the delegation, accompanied by Senior Analyst Coordinator (Middle East & North Africa Desk) Alwi Akbar, Senior Communications Associate Alfath Aziz Kurnia, and Analyst (Transatlantic Desk) Anna Tasya Nurfitriani, representing World Order Lab's Indonesia-based members.
The meeting featured a constructive and candid exchange on ASEAN-IPR’s work in advancing peace and reconciliation across the region, including its engagement with grassroots communities and efforts to build long-term resilience. Discussions highlighted the importance of youth and women as active contributors to peacebuilding and regional stability, with particular attention to the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) and Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agendas. World Order Lab emphasized that young people possess the capacity to create visible and substantive contributions that can complement the work of established experts and institutions.
