Muhammad Izzuddin Al Haq

Executive Director & Chair of Maritime Security Working Group

Muhammad Izzuddin Al Haq is Executive Director and Chair of Maritime Security Working Group at World Order Lab. He is also the Indonesia Liaison Officer and the Chief Editor of The Meridian, the organization's publication platform.

Haqqi holds Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs Management from the School of International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia, and will pursue a Master's Degree in International Relations at the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, Australian National University (2027 - 2029).

Previously, Haqqi served as an Executive Intern at the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (2025 - 2026) and as a a Cadet Researcher at Asian Institute of International Affairs and Diplomacy (2024 - 2025). His work has centered on policy research, regional cooperation, and strategic affairs across Southeast Asia.

Haqqi's research focuses on international security and global governance, with particular interests in regional security, multilateral institutions, strategic competition, and the evolving architecture of international order. His analyses have appeared in East Asia Forum, 9DASHLINE, Australian Outlook, The Defence Post, Stratsea, and other publications.

He has received competitive funding to participate in international conferences and leadership programs supported by the ASEAN-Japan Centre (2023), the U.S. Department of State (2025), the Royal Academy of Cambodia (2025), and other international institutions. He is fluent in Indonesian, English, and Japanese.
