World Order Lab's Vietnam-based members held an Introductory Courtesy Meeting with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Vietnam on Monday, August 17, 2026, to formally introduce the youth think-tank and exchange perspectives with the FES Vietnam team. As the first courtesy meeting with an international non-governmental organization in Vietnam, the occasion held particular significance for the think-tank and marked an important milestone in strengthening engagement with key stakeholders across Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Senior Analyst (Coordinator), Southeast Asia Desk & Vietnam Liaison Officer Vu Phuong Linh led the delegation, accompanied by Analyst (Southeast Asia Desk) Nguyen Duc Hoang Long, Partnership Associate La Hong Linh, and Communications Associate Hoang Ha, representing World Order Lab's Vietnam-based members.

The meeting featured a constructive and candid exchange on Vietnam's development trajectory and contemporary developments in Southeast Asia. Discussions covered a range of issues, including socio-ecological transformation and the green transition, the future of work, workers' rights and the protection of informal workers, institutional coordination between central and provincial authorities, and the implications of technological and geopolitical changes for Vietnam and the region. The discussion also explored potential lessons from the European Union for Vietnam and ASEAN, particularly in relation to institutional coordination and regional cooperation.

World Order Lab extends its sincere appreciation to Resident Representative Mr. Timo Rinke and the entire FES Vietnam team for their warm hospitality, candid perspectives, and a very thoughtful discussion. We look forward to maintaining close communication with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Vietnam and exploring future engagements that contribute to peace through cooperative security and prosperity through good governance across Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
