Vu Phuong Linh
Senior Analyst (Coordinator) of Southeast Asia Desk
Vu Phuong Linh is Senior Analyst (Coordinator) with the Southeast Asia Desk and Vietnam Liaison Officer at World Order Lab. Her work focuses on international law, ASEAN governance, and the legal dimensions of sustainable development.
Linh is currently an Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Scholar at the University of Sheffield, where she pursues an LL.M. in International Law and Global Justice. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in International Law from the Faculty of International Law, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
From 2025 to 2026, Linh was a National Intern with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Energy Support Program, supporting stakeholder engagement and policy research on green finance, energy transition, and coal phase-out in Vietnam. Her earlier work focused more directly on the relationship between domestic policy and international legal frameworks. In 2023, she interned at the Department of International Law and Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, where she engaged in research on international treaties, sustainable development, the sharing economy, and the work of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. She previously worked as a Policy Research Assistant at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam from 2021 to 2023.
Across these roles, Linh has examined how international law and regional cooperation can respond to challenges in human rights, environmental protection, maritime governance, and sustainable development. She has conducted legal analysis, policy research, and field engagement in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, with particular attention to vulnerable communities, shared natural resources, and the interests of developing countries. Her research has appeared in academic journals and conference proceedings internationally.
Linh has represented Vietnam in multiple international law moot court competitions and participated in international programs supported by institutions including the University of Cambridge, the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate, and the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs. She has also held leadership roles in research coordination, academic programming and youth engagement, where she has developed institutional initiatives and expanded access to education and policy dialogue across Vietnam.
