World Order Lab Participates in the Middle Powers Conference 2026

World Order Lab’s Program Manager & Interim Chair of Anti-Corruption Working Group Geo Arshali and Senior Analyst (Southeast Asia Desk) Ibnurafi Andapura participated in the Middle Powers Conference “Alignments and Realignments in the Next World Order: Middle Powers’ Strategic Choices,” held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Jakarta.
Organized by Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia under its Middle Power Studies Network, the conference brought together global policymakers, diplomats, and leading experts to examine how middle powers are navigating shifting alignments amid an evolving global order.
Amid intensifying geopolitical competition and weakening multilateral frameworks, discussions focused on the strategic recalibration of partnerships, the implications of evolving U.S. foreign policy, and the role of middle powers in addressing fragmented regionalism and emerging security challenges, including energy, critical minerals, and technology.
World Order Lab extends its appreciation to the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia and all speakers for convening this timely discussion on the strategic choices facing middle powers amid a shifting global order. We look forward to supporting future initiatives that encourage informed dialogue and create greater opportunities for young professionals to engage with Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s evolving strategic landscape.
