World Order Lab’s Program Manager & Interim Chair of Anti-Corruption Working Group Geo Arshali participated in the 2nd AIPA ConNEXT held under the theme “Navigating Our Future Together: Empowering the Next Generation of ASEAN Leaders,” held at the ASEAN Headquarters on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Organized by the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on the sidelines of the 10th Forum of the Entities Associated with ASEAN, the program convened parliamentarians, ASEAN Secretariat representatives, Heads of ASEAN-associated Entities, and Centers of Excellence to engage with youth through interactive mentoring and dialogue sessions.
The event focused on advancing engagement between ASEAN’s current and emerging leaders, enabling participants to engage with key regional actors and gain valuable insights into leadership, public service, and professional pathways within the broader ASEAN ecosystem.
What are Geo's key takeaways and observations from the event?
"I think the 2nd AIPA ConNEXT showed how valuable it is for young people to engage directly with ASEAN’s institutional and political leaders, especially in gaining practical insights into leadership and public service. My view is that substantive youth participation should go beyond one-off invitations to regional dialogues and create more sustained opportunities for young people to connect with institutions and decision-makers." --- Geo Arshali, Program Manager & Interim Chair of Anti-Corruption Working Group
