World Order Lab Holds Introductory Courtesy Meeting with Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN
World Order Lab held an Introductory Courtesy Meeting with the Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN on Friday, August 28, 2026, to formally introduce the youth think-tank and exchange perspectives on the evolving ASEAN–Republic of Korea relations. As World Order Lab’s first courtesy engagement with the Mission, the meeting marked an important step in strengthening our engagement with ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners and key regional stakeholders.
World Order Lab’s Executive Director Muhammad Izzuddin Al Haq led the delegation, accompanied by Senior Communications Associate Alfath Aziz Kurnia, Senior Analyst (Southeast Asia Desk) Ibnurafi Andapura, Analyst (Southeast Asia Desk) & Chair of Climate Action Working Group Muhamad Ferdy Firmansyah, Analyst (Transatlantic Desk) & Interim Deputy Chair of Anti-Corruption Working Group Nasya Lingga Carrissa, and Partnership Associate Zahra Shaffa Kamila, representing World Order Lab's Indonesia-based members.
The meeting featured a constructive and candid exchange on the development of ASEAN–ROK relations, including the Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN–ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2026–2030), and the priorities shaping the partnership in the coming years. Discussions highlighted the growing strategic and economic importance of ASEAN to the Republic of Korea, as well as the significance of the partnership in advancing shared interests in economic development, innovation, people-to-people connectivity, and regional peace and security.
World Order Lab extends its sincere appreciation to Minister Counsellor Hyon-Sang Ahn and the Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN for their warm hospitality, valuable insights, and candid exchange. We look forward to maintaining close communication with the Mission and exploring future opportunities for dialogue, research collaboration, youth engagement, and institutional cooperation that contribute to peace through cooperative security and prosperity through good governance across Southeast Asia and the wider ASEAN–ROK community.
