Sely Astuti
Lead Creative & Chair of Women Empowerment Working Group
Sely Astuti is Lead Creative and Chair of Women Empowerment Working Group at World Order Lab. She is currently a Master of Human Science (Developmental Psychology) Student at AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Science, International Islamic University Malaysia.
Sely holds Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Islam Bandung, where she was named the 1st Place Selection of Outstanding Student Awardee. Her undergraduate thesis examined the dynamics of shame experienced by an emerging adult child of a corruption offender in Indonesia.
She previously worked as a Psychological Intern at Indonesia’s Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Sukamiskin Class 1 Prison) and a Coordinator of Global Academic Conference at Research Synergy Foundation. A former national debate champion and ASEAN youth delegate, Her work centers on advancing evidence-based practices in child, couple, and family mental health dynamics within Southeast Asian region.
Sely's research focuses on developmental psychology and mental health, with a first-authored publication on shame mechanisms and lead-authored research on workplace stress coping strategies. She has presented her work at international conferences across Southeast Asia, including winning Best Presentation at the International Psychology Conference on Mental Health and Resilience.
