Nisa Asytiyah
Analyst, Middle East & North Africa Desk
Nisa Asytiyah is Analyst with the Middle East & North Africa Desk at World Order Lab. She holds Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Bina Nusantara, with a concentration on Security Studies. Her research interests include international security, UN peacekeeping operations, cybersecurity, strategic affairs, and global governance.
Nisa previously served as a Project Officer at Globy Lentera Nusantara (2026), where she coordinated international conferences and supported the preparation and implementation of international education programs. She worked closely with several institutions, international organizations, academic partners, and conference delegates from various countries. Her responsibilities included coordinating with several United Nations agencies, managing stakeholder engagement, and serving as a Liaison Officer during international events. She also served as an Intern at the Directorate of International Security and Disarmament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (2024 - 2025), where she supported policy research, prepared briefing materials, and contributed to the preparation of Indonesia’s participation in the Bali Process and other multilateral security initiatives.
Earlier, she was an Intern at the Directorate of Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs (2024), where she contributed to policy research, drafting, and the preparation of reports and official documents related to Indonesia’s engagement with the United Nations Human Rights Council. She coordinated with relevant Indonesian ministries and government agencies in the preparation of human rights reports and other interagency initiatives.
Throughout Nisa's academic and professional experiences, she has conducted research on peacekeeping operations, cybersecurity, human rights, and international security. Her undergraduate thesis examined the factors contributing to the termination of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). In this research, she explored the political and operational challenges faced by UN peacekeeping missions and developed a particular interest in evaluating the effectiveness of multilateral security efforts.
