Natamon Aumphin is Senior Analyst with the East Asia Desk at World Order Lab, where she focuses on on regional relations of East Asian countries and ASEAN, cross-strait relations, regional domestic politics, as well as geopolitics across East Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to joining the World Order Lab, she served as Thailand Correspondent for the ASEAN Frontier, conducting myriad of original analyses via interviews and field reports while ensuring latest updates of ongoing affairs in Thailand.
Concurrently, Natamon is pursuing a Master of Arts in Political Economy at School of Political Science and Economics, National Taiwan University. She holds Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (International Relations) from Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, where she initiated her craft in research. Her curiosity spans from exploring effects of border conflict on electoral results to scam center operations, domestic public opinion and elections, ASEAN relations with external powers, and precarity of everyday lives.
Aside from her studies, Natamon often spends her time learning about different perspectives of people from different backgrounds and expertise through casual interactions, interviews, and joining seminars. Reflected through her endeavor as a rapporteur in her bachelor’s years, she had many opportunities to learn and inquire from experts in the IR field from Thailand and Southeast Asia. This experience has assisted her in critically bringing nuances to her analysis report and research later on.
Outside of academia, Natamon was a partner of the Harvard College Project for Asian and International Relations HPAIR , organizing the Asia Conference ACONF 2024 as a Director of the Delegate Experience team. Reflected in multiple feedback, her leadership proves her value in international collaboration by ensuring delegates from all backgrounds connect, thrive, and expand their relations beyond ACONF.
