Muhamad Ferdy Firmansyah

Muhamad Ferdy Firmansyah is Analyst with the Southeast Asia Desk & Chair of Climate Action Working Group at World Order Lab. He currently serves as a Program Partnership Officer at UI GreenMetric at Universitas Indonesia, where he supports international collaboration and sustainability initiatives involving universities worldwide.
He holds Master of Science in Environmental Science, specializing in Environmental Policy and Economics, from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands, and Bachelor's Degree in Development Economics from Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Siliwangi.
Ferdy previously worked as a research assistant at Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the West Java Regional Research and Development Agency (BP2D), and others research institute and think tank, contributing to projects on circular economy, sustainable energy transitions, environmental governance, and public policy.
His research focuses on environmental policy, environmental economics and natural resources, circular economy, and socio-ecological system, He has conducted both qualitative and quantitative research for national and international institutions, applying program analysis, policy analysis, index construction, text mining, and econometric methods to address complex sustainability challenges.
Beyond institutional work, Ferdy has authored and co-authored numerous academic publications, policy papers, and public commentaries on environmental governance, climate policy, and sustainable development. He actively engages with sustainability programmes, professional associations, and research collaborations in Indonesia and internationally, with the aim of advancing practical, evidence-based solutions for environmental and economic policy.
