M. Zaenul Adrian is Analyst with the Southeast Asia Desk at World Order Lab, specializing in Southeast Asian affairs with a strong focus on international security, regional governance, and foreign policy. His research interests encompass strategic competition, conflict and security dynamics, ASEAN regionalism, and the evolving security architecture of the Indo-Pacific. He is particularly interested in how multilateral institutions, diplomacy, and international cooperation shape peace, stability, and regional resilience.
Rian holds Bachelor of Social Science in International Relations from the Faculty of Social Science and Education, President University in Indonesia. He graduated in 2024 with a strong academic foundation in international security, diplomacy, foreign policy analysis, international organizations, and global governance. He combines rigorous research with practical policy experience, enabling him to analyze regional security developments and contribute to discussions on Southeast Asian and Indo-Pacific strategic affairs.
Previously, Rian gained hands-on experience at the ASEAN Secretariat, where he served within the ASEAN Political-Security Community Department. In this role, he supported external relations initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and regional cooperation by coordinating with ASEAN Sectoral Bodies, Dialogue Partners, and international organizations. His experience provided practical exposure to ASEAN's political-security processes, multilateral diplomacy, and regional policy coordination.
