[Event] World Order Lab’s Thoughtcraft Series on Global Affairs #3

Division III (Communications) World Order Lab

7/16/2026

Corruption remains one of the most persistent barriers to sustainable development and good governance across Southeast Asia, undermining public trust, distorting economic opportunity, and disproportionately affecting young people who inherit the institutions shaped by today's decisions. As artificial intelligence rapidly reshapes how governments, civil society, and the private sector detect, prevent, and respond to corrupt practices, questions about its responsible use, accessibility, and regional relevance have become increasingly urgent.

Recognizing the growing role of emerging technologies in strengthening transparency and accountability, World Order Lab, under its Anti-Corruption Working Group, is organizing the third edition of its Thoughtcraft Series on Global Affairs entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Anti-Corruption for Youth: Perspectives from Southeast Asia.”

This session is designed to introduce participants to the opportunities and challenges of using artificial intelligence in anti-corruption efforts, particularly from the perspective of young people in Southeast Asia. The discussion will explore how AI can support corruption prevention, transparency, and accountability, while addressing the ethical and governance risks associated with emerging technologies.
