Ahmad Faris Maulana

Ahmad Faris Maulana is an Analyst with the Transatlantic Desk at World Order Lab, having previously served as the youth think-tank's Lead Creative before transitioning to an analytical role.
Faris holds Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs Management from the School of International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia. His undergraduate thesis examined the impact of the Industrial Revolution on the expansion of the British Empire (1760 - 1900).
Prior to joining World Order Lab in his current analytical capacity, Faris gained research and policy experience through several roles. He previously worked as a Research Intern at Asia Centre Malaysia (April - July 2026), a News Research Intern at Diasporapedia (October 2024 - February 2025), and a Socio-Cultural Affairs Intern at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to ASEAN (August - October 2024).
Faris’s research interests focus on Southeast Asian affairs, particularly the region’s political, economic, and socio-cultural developments. He is particularly interested in how domestic political and economic dynamics shape regional decision-making, cooperation, and the broader evolution of Southeast Asia’s regional order.
